- A shrub, nealy glabrous.
- Previous attribution of this species on Taiwan was based on specimens collected at Taipei, Taoyuan, and Taichung. The three specimens were probably collected from cultivated plants. No plants have been found in the field, as well as at the above three locations, and the species is here treated as doubtful on Taiwan. <p>A specimen (<i>Henry 435</i>, collected at Bankinsing) which was identified as <i>C. dichotoma</i> and cited by Li in 1963 is actually identical to <i>C. formosana</i> Rolfe var. glabrata Chen, Chaw & Yang.</p>
